Tools Needed

Following are the tools you need before beginning.

  • Steno Machine
  • Headphones
  • Foot Pedal
  • Computer with the following:
    • Audio-playing capability
    • A word processing program like Word
    • Adobe PDF Reader (free download from Adobe)
    • Play-back software. There are many programs available, but PRESTO recommends Express Scribe (free download from NCH at www.nch.com.au/scribe/essetup.exe )
    • PowerPoint or PowerPoint Viewer software. There are other free alternatives as well. Here are a few:
      • OpenOffice Impress
      • OpenOffice Apache
      •
